Jim Thebeau, a partner, and Amber Mussman, a public relations counselor at Henry Russell Bruce (HRB), a strategic marketing firm, presented tips on how to grow a company’s brand in a down economy at a business luncheon seminar sponsored by the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce (ICACC).
“Research shows that in down times, those companies that continue to market, continue to advertise retain market share and come out of a recession or down time stronger and maintain their leadership,” said Thebeau.
Thebeau stressed the importance of research in defining your brand. “Do you know where your brand is positioned in your market? Are you sure?” he asked. “Don’t believe your own press releases too much. Research can help you get insights and find unique spaces your brand can own and keep you from making mistakes.”
An article by Gigi Wood highlighting the presentation appeared in the Corridor Business Journal (Nov. 24 – 30).
